ubuntu. But now I'm reinstalling my mac, because apparently the program I wanted to use won't run on a PPC chip set.

Well, I'm figuring that you were attempting to run Ubuntu on an old iMac (possibly the blue case), and if that's the case you're fucked. You can't boot to an ISO via the iMac internal CD drive (however, if you wanted to, you might be able to get around this with a different drive). If I'm totally missing the point that's cool too, but Ubuntu will run on any other new world mac. If you're having any other trouble let me know, because I might be able to help you out.
